Definitely, the live action series of ‘One Piece’ in Netflix has fallen on its feet among fans, and critics already consider it one of the best adaptations of an anime. This, added to the tremendous longevity of the saga, both on television and in manga, suggests that this production would be equally long-lived, an intention corroborated by its producers.
How many seasons will One Piece have?
The response from one of them, Marty Adelstein, is clear and concise. “We hope there will be 12 seasons, there is a lot of material,” he said in Deadline.
“Right now there are more than 1,080 characters in the manga,” adds Becky Clements, also a producer. “We have plans with Matt Owens (showrunner) about doing multiple seasons, and I think that If we made six, we would only use half the characters in the story. “I really want to continue further.”

As we said before, the manga is extraordinarily veteran. It debuted in 1997, in Shonen Jump magazine, and has continued since then. For its part, the anime premiered in Japan 2 years later, in 1999, having aired no less than 1,072 episodes, as well as 13 specials and 15 movies.
“We’ve definitely had conversations about what we’d do with season two, if we had the chance, and shorter conversations about what we’d do from season 3 to season 6,” Clements continues. “The only thing I’ll say is that we completely agree on the parts of the manga that we cannot eliminateand that is our main guide, the stories that we know and the characters that we know are important to the fans.”
