Secretary of Health, David Kershenobich, presented the progress of the National Vaccination Campaign against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) 2025during the morning conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum.

What are the advances of vaccination against HPV 2025?

The official reported that, from 2024 to date, 2 million 229 thousand 617 doses have been applied to girls and boys in fifth grade of primary school, as well as to children under 11 years of age who are not in school.

Besides, He highlighted that in Mexico the nine-valent vaccine is used, considered the most effectivesince it protects against seven types of viruses related to the risk of developing cervical cancer, as well as other types of cancer in men, such as bladder cancer.

“This strategy seeks to ensure that boys and girls vaccinated today reach adulthood without the risk of developing cervical carcinoma.”

The goal for this year is administer 2.5 million vaccines throughout the countryexpanding coverage to more population groups.
