La Jornada – Resale for Mexican matches reaches one million pesos

The name of the rivals that Mexico will have in the 2026 World Cup was barely announced in the draw held in Washington and the prices for the resale of tickets for the Tricolor matches in the group stage shot up to even reach one million pesos for the duel that will be held on June 18 in Guadalajara.

According to the specialized resale page StubHub, the ticket for the third game of the Tricolor, which will be on June 24 in Mexico City, was also offered for up to one million pesos, even though it has not yet been announced who the rival will be since it will come out of the European playoff between Denmark, North Macedonia, the Czech Republic and Ireland.

The prices of tickets for the opening game of the World Cup on June 11 at the Azteca stadium, (newly named Banorte) between Mexico and South Africa also rose to 800 thousand pesos when the initial price had been 1,825 dollars (33 thousand pesos).

Resale prices thus increased exorbitantly as FIFA indicated that the original costs would range from 60 dollars (1,125 pesos) to 6,730 (125,984) for the most exclusive seats in the final of the tournament that will be on July 19 in New York.
