We tell you what features the new Volkswagen sedan has, which is positioned as one of the best of the brand.

a few months ago Volkswagen presented in the Middle East two new sedans that will be marketed as Jetta and Passatand which in China are offered as Sagittar and Magotanrespectively.
In the case of the largest, like its younger brother, it was developed by the FAW companywhich will now be in charge of exporting it to the countries of Middle East, where it will be called Passat. It should be noted that it uses the same architecture as the European model, which is no longer offered as a sedan but is only a rural one, very attractive indeed.

He Volkswagen Passat which the brand manufactures in China together with FAW (there is also another agreement with SAIC, which is different) has the most aggressive imprint of all the Passats that currently exist worldwide, at least for us. Its lines transmit aggressiveness and sportiness and remind us of the discontinued CCwhich was later replaced by the Arteon in Europe.

The Passat was introduced with the first name Magotan at the International Show that took place in Beijing, where the public was able to see its silhouette for the first time. In that region, sedans are still widely accepted because they are seen as high-prestige vehicles.
As in other exponents of its type, this sedan relies on a roof drop fastback typewith a finish that is very similar to other Volkswagens. The optics are united by a red applique and, as in the renewed Tiguan which was recently released in our countrythe resource of the illuminated emblem appears both front and back.

Regarding dimensions, this Passat is a medium/large sedanwith a body that almost stretches to the 5 meters (4,990 mm). In addition, it is 1,854 mm wide, 1,487 mm high and has a generous wheelbase of 2,871 mm, which guarantees a spacious cabin where there is a high level of comfort for all occupants, but with an extra amount of care for those in the back (thinking of someone who travels with a driver).
In the Middle East, the Volkswagen Passat is offered with two 100% gasoline engines. On the one hand, the 2.0 turbo 220 HP and 380 Nm of torque associated with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and on the other a less powerful 1.5 turbo with 160 HP. In all cases the traction goes to the front axle.

Inside, all the technology and what has to do with screens draws attention: in total there are three, because it has a third on the right end of the panel that is oriented towards the passenger, a solution that we have already seen in models from other brands such as the pickup RAM 1500 or the brand new Renault Koleos.
Behind the steering wheel appears a 100% configurable digital instrument quite similar to the Active Info Display that the Mercosur exponents have, which is complemented by a huge central screen of almost 12” that has everything. Added to these two is the third screen, a little smaller.

If we talk about the equipment, Volkswagen offers a complete set of both comfort and safety, which highlights the presence of electric seats with memories for the driver, leather upholstery, button engine start, tri-zone air conditioner with digital control for the rear seats, electric handbrake, among others.
When it comes to safety, this sedan offers multiple airbags and a complete set of ADAS such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous braking with pedestrian detection and lane keeping, all devices grouped into what Volkswagen calls it “Travel Assist”.
In the Arab Emirates this version of the Volkswagen Passat has a price equivalent to less than $30,000 (29,600 to be more exact). For its part, the Vento is located in a lower step due to size and price, with a value that starts at $25,000.
