La Jornada – ‘Checo’ Pérez suffers on his return to F1 and Russell takes pole position for the Australian GP

Czech Pérez will have a difficult start to his return to Formula 1. Now, aboard the Cadillac team car, which is making its debut in the competition, the Mexican will start from 18th place in the Australian Grand Prix, the opening race of the season, after being eliminated in round one of the classification, while George Russell, from Mercedes, took pole position at the Melbourne circuit.

It was a good start for the Mercedes team, after the Italian driver Kimi Antonelli took second place for this Saturday’s race. In contrast, the Red Bull team managed to place the Algerian Isack Hadjar in third place, although its main rider, four-time champion Max Verstappen will start from 20th place after suffering a crash in the first heat.
