LOS ANGELES, CA.- The singer and content creator D4vdidentified by authorities as David Anthony Burkewas arrested this Thursday April 16, 2026 by the Robbery and Homicide Division of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)under suspicion of murder in the case of the teenager Celeste Rivas Hernandez14 years old.
“Detectives from the Robbery and Homicide Division have arrested David Burke (…) for the murder of Celeste Rivas”the LAPD reported in a statement.
Authorities said Burke remains in custody without the right to bail.
According to what was reported by the authorities, the case will be presented on Monday before the District Attorney’s Office for the possible formal formulation of charges.
Finding of the remains and background of the case
Celeste’s remains were found on September 8, 2025 in a Tesla Model Y registered to Burke, after the vehicle was towed for parking violations.
Reports indicate that the car would have been abandoned since the end of July 2025 near a property that the artist rented in the area of Hollywood Hills.
The disappearance of Celeste Rivas
Celeste Rivas Hernandez, originally from Lake Elsinore (California)had been reported as missing on several occasions since 2024.
His last confirmed contact with the family he settled in May 2024according to the information available.
The autopsy did not establish an exact cause of death due to advanced state of decomposition.
A judge later ordered seal the coroner’s file in November 2025according to reports.
The LAPD classified the case as a murder investigation from November 2025.
Grand jury work and preliminary proceedings
