That Google is lagging behind its rivals in AI programming is causing concern in Mountain View. Although the company has tools for this task, they are not part of the same product, but rather they are scattered under different names. Unifying them within Antigravity would help them have a more robust product to offer to the developer community. But also to those who are trying their luck with the creation of apps via vibe coding.
There are still not too many details regarding when the new version of Antigravity would be released with the new AI programming features. However, the report mentions that the deployment would be launched in the next weeks. Which makes sense if what Google intends is to reduce the gap with Claude Code and Codex immediately.

Google launched Antigravity alongside Gemini 3, and while it generated some noise with its introduction, it didn’t wow programmers too much. The platform is an integrated development environment (IDE) whose main virtue is having an agentic mode that is responsible for automating various tasks at the time of write and test code.
