The director of Social Security announced an unprecedented national deployment to stop measles. For 12 continuous hours, hospitals, medical and sports units will open their doors for an intensive day of immunization.

In an effort to shield the country’s public health from possible epidemiological outbreaks, the general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo confirmed through her official channels a massive health mobilization for this weekend.
Under the motto “Together, vaccinated, we draw the line at measles”the IMSS will activate a special operation this Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, 2026. The objective is clear: intensively apply the first dose or the booster of the measles vaccine, guaranteeing that the biological vaccine reaches the most vulnerable population in record time.

IMSS against measles: who should be vaccinated urgently
The campaign is designed with a demographic and territorial prioritization approach. As explained by the head of the IMSS, this weekend’s strategy will be divided into two target groups:
-
National Priority (Children Population): The main goal is girls and boys from 6 months to 12 years of age throughout the country, either to receive their first dose or to complete their schedule with the corresponding booster.
-
Adults in Risk Areas: In 11 priority states of the Republic, the campaign will be extended to people from 13 to 49 years of age who do not have the complete schedule, who have never been vaccinated or who simply do not remember if they received the dose in their childhood.
IMSS vaccination this weekend: days, times and locations
To avoid excuses of time or distance, Social Security has ordered the opening of multiple facilities beyond traditional offices.
The day will operate on an uninterrupted schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during both days. The enabled venues will include:
- General hospitals.
- Family Medicine Units (UMF).
- Social Security Centers.
- Sports centers.
- Public esplanades (identifiable with official IMSS signage).
Robledo was emphatic in reminding citizens that the vaccine is free, secure and universalso it is not necessary to be a beneficiary of the IMSS to receive protection in the installed modules.
To locate the headquarters closest to your home, the Ministry of Health has enabled the official portal: dondemevacuno.salud.gob.mxwhere users can consult the interactive map of vaccination points.
