Asha Sharma continues to leave important headlines after the latest internal changes within Xbox. After talking about Game Pass, exclusivities and the future of the brand, new details have now also been known about Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S support.
According to information shared during an internal Xbox meeting, Microsoft is preparing an update phase much more frequent for their consoles during the remainder of 2026.
Xbox will strengthen the operating system with biweekly updates
According to the statements shared after the internal meeting, the teams responsible for Xbox are working daily on Project Helix, the great project that will mark the future of the platform.
But in addition, Sharma would also have confirmed that:
- Xbox Series will receive updates every two weeks
- The plan will continue until the end of 2026
- Microsoft is reinvesting heavily in Xbox OS
The most striking detail is probably precisely that reinvestment in the Xbox operating system, something that many players have been demanding for some time. In recent years, part of the community had criticized the lack of important new features in the interface and system functions compared to other more active stages of Xbox.
Now it seems that Microsoft wants to accelerate the pace of improvements, customization and new features for the console. All of this also fits with the internal document “We Are Xbox”, where the company itself recently acknowledged that players were frustrated with aspects related to discovery, search, social functions and customization within the Xbox ecosystem.
For now, exactly what new features will come in these future updates have not been detailed, although looking at Xbox’s new direction, everything indicates that the operating system will once again become an important priority for the company.
