It is not just any circuit, epic motorsport pages have been written here, from legendary victories to accidents that are still counted with respect. And on a day of good weather in the Eifel region, with dry asphalt and clear skies, the Golf GTI Edition 50 arrived to write its own chapter.

At the wheel was Benjamin LeuchterVolkswagen’s official development and test driver, a man who knows every inch of this track as if it were his own living room. Leuchter has spent thousands of hours tuning the brand’s cars in the most extreme conditions.

A 325 HP Volkswagen Golf that is not satisfied with being “sufficient”

Under the hood of Golf GTI Edition 50 an engine beats that delivers 239 kW, that is, 325 HP of pure power. Accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just one 5.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 270km/h. In the chassis we find a McPherson-type front axle combined with a multi-link rear axle. The whole set is 15 millimeters lower than a conventional Golf.
