After starring in a talked-about musical number that opened the 2026 World Cup in Mexico City, Shakira was captured with Manuel García-Rulfo leaving together Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles this week, in photos they shared online and that sparked questions about a possible romance.

The sighting occurred days after the singer spoke about her love life in an interview with People: “I’m just thinking about raising my children. I don’t see that for now. Maybe when they’re older.” He also added: “Through those difficult times, I discovered how resilient we are.”

The images were spread by the media DeuxMoi and were taken while Shakira was on hiatus on dates of her Women No Longer Cry World Tour, after giving two concerts in Los Angeles last week to start a new leg of the tour.

García-Rulfo had a previous relationship with Audrey McGraw, and their breakup was reported this year after they both unfollowed each other on Instagram. The actor participates in the Netflix series The Lincoln Lawyer and has appeared in films such as Jurassic World Rebirth and A Man Called Otto.

Manuel García Rulfo was born on February 25, 1981 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. His career began in short films and local projects before making the leap to larger scale international productions.

Among his best-known works were Bless Me, Ultima and Cake. Its international projection was consolidated with The magnificent seven from 2016, where he played one of the protagonists alongside Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt.

The actor also participated in The shadow of the hitman. This diversity of roles explains why his name appeared linked to a big-budget, global production when it was announced for Jurassic World Rebirth.

Within the adaptations of Agatha Christie, García Rulfo played Bouc in Murder on the Orient Express 2017 and reprized the character in Death on the Nile of 2022. He is also the protagonist of Pedro Paramothe recent adaptation of the emblematic novel.

On television, the Mexican actor appeared in the series Goliath from Amazon Prime Video with Billy Bob Thornto. That participation expanded his presence outside of cinema and reinforced his career in productions made for the United States market.
