Omar Bravo Tordecillas, top historical scorer of the Guadalajara Club, was arrested on Saturday for the alleged crime of sexual abuse to a minor in the center of Zapopan, Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office reported.
“For his alleged responsibility in the crime of aggravated child sexual abuse, elements of the Investigation Police assigned to ViceFiscalía in research specialized in attention to women, girls, children and adolescents, gender and family reason, managed to capture a man,” said the Prosecutor’s Office.
According to a National Registry of arrest registry, the 44 -year -old Mexican was captured on November 20th Street between January 28 and Emiliano Zapata, by agents of the Investigation Police and made available to the Public Ministry.
The complaint indicates that the defendant “would have abused a teenager on different occasions in recent months” and it is presumed that he would have previously committed similar actions.
“After the complaint filed, this social representation integrated a consistent investigation folder with which an arrest warrant could be obtained against the aforementioned, through the Tenth Court of Control, Procedure and Integral Justice for Adolescents, of the First Judicial District,” you can read in the document.
Omar Bravo will be made available to a judge in Puente Grande, who will determine the legal situation of the former national team.
Bravo stood out as a player when he was a member with Chivas from 2000 to 2007 when he later emigrated to Europe to play with Deportivo La Coruña. With almost 20 years of career on the courts he was also part of the Mexican team with which he played the 2006 World Cup while becoming the top historical scorer of Guadalajara with 155 goals.
