costco in the United States announced a voluntary recall of several products, especially two of its most popular prepared foods due to a possible contamination with pieces of plastic in the dressing that accompanies both products.
The alert, issued on November 7 by the company and its supplier Ventura Foods, directly affects the Caesar Salad (item no. 11444) and the chicken sandwich with Caesar salad (item no. 11444), according to the company.
The products involved were distributed in selected stores from the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast of the country, with sales dates between October 17 and November 9.
In the official notice, Costco asked consumers to immediately stop their consumption.
Please stop using the product and return it to your local Costco for a full refund,” the chain said in its statement.

The warning was also posted on Costco’s website, detailing that both items are being recalled due to the “possible presence of foreign plastic materials in the topping of the items.”
The supplier, Ventura Foods, began an investigation to determine how the polluting plastic entered and prevent the incident from happening again.

This recall adds to a series of recent health alerts in US supermarkets related to foreign bodies or contaminants in food products.
