The Mazda CX-30 debuts in Model Year 2027 with a major update. Since its launch in 2019, it has become one of the Japanese brand’s cars with the highest sales volume in the European market.

Mazda focuses the adjustments above all on active safety, expands the range of finishes and refines design details both inside and outside. Of course, there are no major changes in the general aesthetics or in the engines.

One of the key points of the update is the modernization of assistance systems. The main novelty is the linking of adaptive cruise control with traffic sign recognition.

In addition, the emergency braking assistant incorporates turning detection at intersections and specific motorcycle recognition. This last function is also used in the lane change assistant, with the aim of increasing reliability when detecting two-wheeled users in the blind spot. Likewise, secondary collision mitigation and attention assist become part of the standard equipment from the base Prime-Line trim.

Discreet review

The image of the CX-30 is retouched using specific details. On the Homura, Homura Plus and the new Makoto special edition versions, the front Signature Wing and the brand emblem are offered ex factory in black, as well as the darkened model badges. The color palette debuts the Aero Gray and Zinc Green options.

The range of finishes starts with the Prime-Line, available from 29,990 euros (in Germany) which, in addition to the expanded assistants, incorporates aesthetic touches such as the matte black center console, black trim on the side windows and newly designed LED daytime running lights.

The Center-Line finish starts at 32,440 euros (Germany) and incorporates new center console lighting, while the optional design package adds a gloss black center console, chrome trim on the windows and gunmetal interior appliqués. The Homura version is offered from 33,140 euros (Germany) and is distinguished by sporty details and black exterior components.

Completely new is the Homura Plus finish, with a price from 37,140 euros (Germany). This variant includes evolved Matrix LED headlights, 360-degree camera, park exit assistant with braking function, black leather seats with electric adjustment and heated front seats, black roof bars and a Bose surround sound system with 12 speakers.

The Exclusive-Line level starts at 35,790 euros (Germany) and incorporates silver roof bars and a 360-degree camera with See-Through View function, while the traditional top-of-the-range Takumi finish, from 38,190 euros (Germany), adds black decorative elements and ventilation in the front seats.

Makoto Special Edition

Also joining the range is the Makoto special edition, available from 34,440 euros (Germany), which features a light-looking interior, with imitation leather upholstery in white and light gray, as well as a dashboard finished in imitation suede.

Two atmospheric gasoline

The mechanical offer of the Mazda CX-30 maintains two naturally aspirated gasoline engines, both standard with a 24-volt microhybrid system. The e-Skyactiv G 140 block produces 140 HP from 2.5 liters of displacement and delivers a maximum torque of 238 Nm at 3,300 rpm. It incorporates automated cylinder disconnection and the transmission can be manual or automatic with torque converter, both with six speeds.

The top-of-the-range engine continues to be the e-Skyactiv X 186, a 2-liter block with 186 HP and a maximum torque of 240 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This engine uses the SPCCI combustion process, which combines characteristics of a conventional gasoline engine with the compression ignition of a diesel. This version can be optionally associated with i-Activ AWD all-wheel drive.
