Millions of Facebook and Instagram users have reported problems when accessing the two platforms of the giant Meta. Specifically, in the social network created by Mark Zuckerberg the message appears “This account is temporarily unavailable” and then “ … Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue that we hope to resolve shortly. Please try again in a few minutes.
The Downdetector page, which is used to report outages in the social networking service, shows an increase in 45% in failed attempts to access Facebook in Spain, load the ‘feed’ or log in from the browser.
In the United States, also according to Downdetector, 63% of users had problems to access the website, as reported by Reuters. Another 2,829 reports were submitted by Instagram users during the morning of this Sunday. Checks by Reuters also revealed that access to Facebook and Instagram was intermittent in Singapore. That is, the fall has been at an international level.
On Instagram, it seems that there is a saturation estimated at about 2.45 million access attempts per minute, when the configured limit was 600,000. Therefore, the server is receiving about four times more requests than allowed.
