The Ministry of Health reports to at least seven deaths from influenza H1N1 in Mexico, as well as 2,313 cases, this from October 2025 to the beginning of January of this year.
The federal agency also highlighted that, of the registered cases, almost 40% occurred in children and young adults; groups from one year of age to 14 years, which represent 25.2% of infections and the group from 25 to 34 years old, 13.6%.
A H1N1, the type of influenza with the greatest registration in Mexico
The main type of influenza circulating in the country is A H1N1 with 52.9%while with 33.6% A (H3N2) circulates, 10.2% is for influenza A and 3.3% is for B.

The Ministry of Health indicated that at northern Mexicohe type A H3N2 is the one that circulates in 56.1%. For its part, in the center and south of the national territory predominates type A H1N1.
Other viruses in the country
In addition to the deaths from influenza in Mexicoas well as the cases and the division of records in the country, the federal agency added that, with respect to other viruses of the winter season, the Ministry of Health Federal reports 2,196 cases mainly in the age groups of one to four years, in children under one year and between five to nine years.
Of these infections, 38.6% correspond to cases of Enterovirus/Rhinovirus32% to Respiratory Syncytial Virus, 11.1% to Metapneumovirus9.6% for influenza and the rest to other viruses.
The federal agency reported similar behavior of the influenza infections and other viruses to tseason 2024-2025and so far there is no significant increase, as in the 2022-2023 season.
