One of the big disappointments of the year for many players was Monster Hunter Wilds. If we talk strictly about the gameplay and although there are some nuances, the Capcom title lived up to expectations. However, The technical section disappointed everyone. Neither version of the game shined in this aspect, but, without a doubt, the worst off were PC players. It got to such a point that the title, after the success that its predecessor had had, has not managed to get past the “Mixed” reviews on Steam and its creators had to announce a rescue plan. The good news is that that rescue operation has started well.
Monster Hunter Wilds begins to rise
According to the analysis of Digital Foundry, a reference medium when it comes to evaluating the technical section of great titles, the latest update to Monster Hunter Wilds offers a best experience. The frame rate per second is between 8 and 20% higher depending on which section of the video game we are referring to, with the most notable improvement being in the areas with more characters and elements. In addition, sudden FPS drops that affected certain areas of the game such as camps have disappeared and stuttering has been greatly reduced. The three words to keep the conversation in simple terms are greater fluidity and stability.
It must be said, however, that this is a better one with an asterisk. Players have gained from the introduction of the patch, but Capcom has also carried out certain commitments. Some elements in the cinematics are not loading correctly and texture popping is much more noticeable since the introduction of the update. Walking calmly and seeing how the tent next to us suddenly appears wrinkled is not the best for immersion, although it is surely an acceptable sacrifice for some players. As for those elements that do not load directly, it would be expected that a patch would arrive with some urgency to solve it.

The improvements are more noticeable in the areas with more graphical load.
It was to be expected that this patch would be more of a small victory than a resounding triumph. The Monster Hunter Wilds developers’ plan is to launch three performance updates during these three months, this being the first of them and theoretically the least important for PC gamers. That’s why, while the game still needs improvement, the mood can be a little more positive. Of course, users are still not happy and everything indicates that Capcom will not have many more opportunities to satisfy them.

The future of Monster Hunter Wilds is largely at stake in these updates. The game was very successful at launch, but its performance in recent months has disappointed Capcom. This could negatively impact the commercial performance of future downloadable content. In this sense, the company is going to have to regain the trust of users and hit the table hard.
